Our Story
THE NUMBERS RARELY TELL THE WHOLE STORY THEMSELVES.
Vant Investigations, LLC was built on a simple idea: complicated financial questions require more than accounting. They require investigation.
Across more than three decades of federal financial-investigation and advanced forensic work, Laurel learned to do more than review records. She learned to reconstruct transactions, follow money across accounts, interview witnesses, and turn complicated financial evidence into a story that prosecutors, grand juries, and juries could understand.
But the most important lesson of that work was that the numbers were never merely numbers. Behind a bank statement, spreadsheet, or financial record was someone’s home, a child’s college fund, a retirement plan, a business, or a lifetime of savings. Too often, Laurel entered the picture only after those plans had been damaged by fraud.
That experience shaped Vant Investigations. The work still begins with documents, transactions, and financial analysis, but the purpose is larger: to understand what happened, explain it clearly, and give clients and their attorneys the information they need to protect what matters.

UNCOVERING THE FULL PICTURE
Nonprofit Embezzlement Investigation
In one non-profit matter involving suspected embezzlement, the organization initially believed approximately $50,000 had been taken.
Laurel’s investigation showed the losses were, in fact, far greater — well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. By following the money, tracing transactions, and asking the questions others had not asked, she uncovered the true scale of the misconduct and helped identify assets that could be recovered.
APPLYING INVESTIGATIVE DISCIPLE
Recent High-Asset Divorce
In a recent high-asset divorce, Laurel was brought in to make sense of a complicated financial picture. By following the money, comparing records across sources, and asking what did not fit, she identified financial issues that ultimately helped preserve millions of dollars for her client. The challenge was not simply to organize the numbers, but to understand the story behind them.
